Summary

Short version: the App collects images you choose to upload, device location (latitude & longitude) when you perform asset verification, and a user identifier (user_id) required for the service. We use this information only to provide the App's core functionality (asset verification and related features). We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Information You Provide

• Images / Photos: When you create an asset verification entry you may take or select a photo and upload it to our servers.
• Asset code / Asset details: If you search or select an asset (asset code/description), that input is sent to our server to fetch asset details.
• User identifier: A user ID (user_id) associated with your account/device is sent with requests so we can associate submissions to your account.

Automatically Collected Information

• Location: When performing asset verification the App may collect your device's GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude). This is used to tag the verification with a location.
• Device & connection data: Device model, OS version, app version, and network information (IP address) for diagnostics and to help deliver the service.

Permissions

The App may request the following permissions: Camera (to take photos), Storage (to read/select photos), and Location (to capture GPS coordinates). You can deny permissions, but certain features (like uploading an image or capturing location) will not work if permission is not granted.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the App: To enable asset verification features, upload and store photos, and attach location to verification entries.
• Display & retrieve asset data: To query and display asset metadata from our assets API when you search for an asset code.
• Support & debugging: To investigate issues and improve app performance.
• Communications: To contact you about your submissions or for important account-related messages (if applicable).

Disclosure & Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party service providers who assist us with hosting, storage, and delivery of app functionality (for example: cloud hosting providers). They only receive the data needed to perform their services and are contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

Storage and Retention

Images, asset verification records (including location and associated user ID), and related metadata are stored on our servers. We retain submitted verification data for as long as necessary to provide the service and to comply with legal obligations. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or storage is 100% secure. You agree to use the App with the understanding that we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party libraries and APIs (for example, SDKs for image handling or HTTP networking). These providers may collect or process information only as necessary to deliver their functionality. Where applicable, their privacy policies apply to those services.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.

Data Removal & User Rights

Your Choices

• Permissions: You can manage and revoke app permissions (camera, location, storage) in your device settings.
• Disable location: If you disable location permissions, location-tagging features will not function.
• Stop sharing images: You may choose not to upload images; however, this will prevent submitting asset verifications.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We'll post the updated policy here with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after we make changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
